Purim: Persecution & Perseverance

Have you ever thought about what God is doing behind the scenes? Sometimes we forget that God is working in all that is going on in this world for His glory. The book of Esther reminds us of this. Even though this book in the Bible never mentions God, He is there orchestrating the events to His liking. Be encouraged this week as Chris talks about the persecution and preservation of the Jewish people.

We’ll learn that Satan seeks to destroy what God values and Satan is still trying to do this today. But when hardship comes, we need to ask, What if like Esther, God has positioned you for such a time as this?

THE FEASTS OF ISRAEL

Purim is the most joyous of all holidays for the Jewish people. It is a reminder of God’s protection over His Chosen People.  You can find out more about Purim and other Jewish holidays in The Feast of Israel.

Did you know that much of what Jesus said and did-which sometimes seems mysterious to us-suddenly makes complete sense when we understand the rich symbolism behind the holidays and feasts of ancient Israel. See the intricate, spiritual tapestry woven by the hand of God, a tapestry illustrating the marvelous plan of salvation that He has designed.

Apples of Gold—The Angry Neighbor

An angry neighbor came to Zvi confronting him about his faith in Jesus. Zvi explained that he follows the Bible’s teaching, not words from Rabbi’s like many others. The neighbor, not happy with his answer told him if he believed that way he was no longer an Israeli. Zvi then had the opportunity to share much more than his words with his neighbor, listen and find out what he said.

Music

The Friends of Israel Today and Apples of Gold theme music was composed and performed by Jeremy Strong.
