Interview: Cary Summers
We have a very special guest on this week’s program, Cary Summers President of the Washington D.C. based Museum of the Bible. Haven’t been there? That’s because it’s still under construction! Cary takes us on a behind the scenes look at this exciting new museum and all it has to offer. Opening fall of 2017 this 430,000 square foot building is fully dedicated to the Bible. This isn’t your typical museum where you walk around, read, and look at displays. The Museum of the Bible is a full interactive experience that takes 72 hours to go through from start to finish! Cary explains how they have been working closely with Israel and their Antiquities Authority who will be bringing in thousands of items to display inside of the museum.
Also, you’ll hear about an exciting program the museum sponsors sending young adults to Israel. This program has taken over 1,100 college students to Israel to learn about the history of the Bible as well as modern Israel. They are literally making advocates of Israel! And lastly, imagine your child being required to learn the history of the Bible in public school. Cary will explain how an exciting Bible curriculum the museum has developed is being taught in public schools in Israel and is thriving.
