Interview: Pastor Mark Johnson
We are highlighting the most recent issue of Israel My Glory magazine ““In the Line of the King: Five women in the line of the Messiah” this week. Chris interviews Pastor Mark Johnson whose article “What Grace Can Do” highlights the tragedy and redemption behind one of the women, Bathsheba.
We’ll learn how although David and Bathsheba’s sins had grave consequences God still used them in the line of Jesus. There’s a powerful paragraph in Pastor Mark’s article, “What a God! He is writing His grand story. Ephesians 1:11-12 says God, ’works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.’ God receives glory by displaying His grace–His undeserved kindness to people who deserve punishment.”
Next week we’ll be continuing our Eden to Eden series.

A Countercultural God
Every day in the media we hear of another man being fired or accused of mistreating women. Aren’t you grateful that you serve a God who is unchanging and cares now and has always cared for women? We serve a countercultural God! Ever since mankind was created God has had a unique and important role for women. They are not less important like many cultures have made them! Women have always had a vital job in God’s story. Chris explains how we can take great comfort in a God who holds women at such a high place. Culture will always change, but our God and His character never will!
