Interview—Dr. Carlos Gruzman
Chris Katulka spent the last 3 weeks in Israel leading our ORIGINS young adult trip. While there, the group volunteered at Kaplan Medical Center. In this week’s segment, join Chris as he interviews the new CEO of Kaplan Medical Center, Dr. Carlos Gruzman and his assistant, Shai Alderoty. They’ll discuss who the hospital serves, how it serves, Carlos’ vision for Kaplan’s future, and how you can partner with his vision for the largest cardiac center in the Middle East.
Dr. Carlos Gruzman, M.D., has been the CEO of the Kaplan Medical Center and Harzfeld Geriatric Hospital since the Autumn of 2015. Previously he was the CEO of Hasharon Hospital, Rabin Medical Center, Petah Tiqva since June, 2011. For eleven years, from January, 2000, he headed the Hospitalization Services Department at Clalit HQ, Tel Aviv. He also was on the 1994 Israeli medical team to the Jewish Community Building disaster in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the 1986 Israel Medical rescue mission to the volcano disaster in Cameroon. Dr. Gruzman’s extensive resume in hospital management are complimented by his emergency trauma field work and life-saving experience.

During the recent election campaign in Israel, various candidates battled for the office of prime minister. One candidate in particular — a rabbi running on an ultra-Orthodox party ticket — placed an ad in the newspaper stating that God will judge those who do not give their votes to his political party. This bothered Zvi, and the Lord gave him the courage to go to the party’s headquarters to have a discussion about it. Listen to this week’s edition of Apples of Gold to find out what happened next!
