Eden to Eden, Part Two

Eden to Eden, Part Two

As we continue part two of our current series, Eden to Eden, Chris will show us in Scripture God’s omnibenevolence. It’s a big word but simply put it means God is perfectly good. We’ll see how God pursues the people of Israel even though they reject Him over and over. And the reason He pursues? Because He is good! He remembers and holds to His promise or covenant even when they disobey and wander.

As we travel through the Old Testament looking at the Israelites then David in the Psalms to the New Testament with the Apostle John’s words, we’ll see the pattern of God’s omnibenevolence. The reason God reached out over and over again despite idolatry and disobedience and why He sent His Son to be the payment for the sins of all mankind is because it’s in His nature to do so.

And again we are reminded that this pursuit is not because God needs us but because He wants us!

God Doesn’t Need Us…He Wants Us

It’s easy to take the concept that Chris is talking about in Eden to Eden and misinterpret to think that God pursues us because He needs us. That could not be further from the truth. The Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) is perfectly complete. God does not need us to complete Himself. Instead He made man in His image. And in this we as humans are wired for community. Chris shows us how it is not good for us to be alone. People need one another and believers are no exception!

Apples of Gold

It is hard living in Israel. Economically and also physically the people of Israel often suffer every day, Zvi encountered many people who would deny the existence of God because they were in such distress. Zvi would remind people that God has brought them to the Promised Land and will not forsake them! Just because they are going through struggles and hardship does not mean that God does not exist! Listen as he explains this to people he encounters.

Zvi’s story is available in Elwood McQuaid’s book, “Zvi: The Miraculous Story of Triumph over the Holocaust,” available at our online store.

More stories from Zvi are also available in his book, “The Best of Zvi,” available at our online store.
