Rebuilding the Temple

We see throughout the Bible that the temple is very important to the Jewish people. It wasn’t the building that was important however, it was Who was in the temple. This week we will learn about the history of the rebuilding of the temple. We’ll see in the fourth century Roman Emperor Julian making it his personal cause to rebuild the temple.

We’ll also hear how throughout history there have been different efforts to rebuild the Jewish temple. Chris will take us to 2 Thessalonians where the Antichrist will sit in the third temple. But we’ll learn that’s not the temple we as believers in Jesus should look for. Listen and find out what that temple is!

Apples of Gold: What Do You Think of the Messiah?

As an IDF soldier, Zvi was patrolling through Jerusalem in the early morning hours. He met a group of orthodox Jewish students walking. When asked where they were going, they shared they were headed to the Western Wall to pray. Zvi began asking a series of questions that led to the Messiah. Hear their conversation and how God led Zvi to share.

Zvi’s story is available in Elwood McQuaid’s book, “Zvi: The Miraculous Story of Triumph over the Holocaust,” available at our online store.

More stories from Zvi are also available in his book, “The Best of Zvi,” available at our online store.

  1. acts 17: 24-25 … Jesus our Messiah brought in our 2nd & totally final Covenant with God. an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,[a] 25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. Jesus told us [in John] … “in the future, We will worship GOD in Spirit and in Truth [only].”

  2. Brother, There is no relationship between Paul’s comments in Acts 17 and any “second and final covenant.” As to worship in “spirit and truth,” Jesus said in Jn. 4 (to the woman at the well of Samaria), that “the hour is coming AND NOW IS…”. (emphasis mine). So today, we worship in spirit and truth. We don’t need to wait for Heaven’s future for that. In Heaven, we will worship God in His presence. The text is simply implying that God is truly worship ONLY in spirit and truth.
